About this Photograph

Location: Sinjuku Ward, Tokyo, Japan

Sinjuku Station in Tokyo, Japan is well known as a central hub for rail lines leading to all parts of Tokyo and beyond the city as well.  This photo was taken from the 38th floor of the JW Marriot Hotel looking across the city at night.  The 10 second exposure required the use of a tripod, but the skyline really came alive against the backdrop of a cloudy night.

This shot was taken in 2006 while on a business trip and is one of three additional photographs that you can view through the 'New Images' main menu link.  I will be updating new photo's once a month and placing them in the New Images staging area before I move them to their final gallery 'resting place.'

Read more in the featured photograph blog where I write more about this photograph and the associated workflow.   Also, read below about my new contract with Agora Gallery in New York City.  They will be representing my work in 2012.

One of my resolutions for 2012 will be to make an extra effort to push myself and take a real risk on my photography.  The feedback is always very positive and with each piece of progress, I have more and more reason to believe.  2012 is a year to act on that belief. I have signed the contract for gallery representation with Agora Gallery in Chelsea (New York City).  This is a big leap of faith for me, but with all of the positive feedback I have received on my work I felt that there was no better time than now.  But that makes me put a lot of pressure on myself to 'put-up-or-shut-up' this year.  I will be pursuing the galleries in the San Francisco Bay area to see if I can generate additional interest, finding opportunities to submit my work for juried shows, and the like.  So... I would appreciate all of your support by doing what you can to send my site to people you know.  Be a FB Fan, Twitter me, mark the site for Stumble upon, Google Plus, any of the above or any more you might think of.  I would greatly appreciate the support!
